At the time the first loan was taken out (it was for around 4,000 and it was to a school that was a scam, but they got away with itbecause they knew the ins and outs of pulling off their scam very well. . so I’m asking about applying for another loan / consolidation, not discussing the previous one.

I have an old student loan. I owe $18,000. $9000 of that is interest! I have never paid on these loans…………….I know they are not going away and I need to get something figured out. What should I do? Someone told me there is a way to make some sort of deal to get the debt knocked down but i cannot pay anything off, i would only be able to make small monthly payments. The loans are from 1991, any advice?

i live in California and i am 22 years old and attending school full time. i just got laid off of work but i am well protected to avoid bad credit. but i was wondering if their is a student loan i could get to just pay my credit card off now and deal with it after i get out of school. i have great credit and no other debts other then this credit card.

I’m currently thinking of applying on all three this summer. I have a full-time job but seeking to replace with a part-time job to pay my bills and make room for school. I plan on applying for 2 loans: $10,000 for auto and another $15,000 on student loan. I have limited credit history of 8 months with a credit score ranging from 640-660 maybe even at 680 due to regular payments on my 2 credit card bills. I’ve had my current job for a year and a month but working here won’t get me anywhere that is why I decided to further my career by going back to college. I am also currently applying for my financial aid as a full-time student to help out with school’s tuition and expenses. I could probably deal with $400-500 a month payments for the two loans and I have minimal payments for my living and misc expenses. But would this be a good decision? I need experienced individuals to advice and give suggestions pls. Thank you very much!

Okay here is the deal, I’m working and going to school, and I find it difficult to do both and I find it hard to be at my best in either area, so basically they’re conflicting. My main problem is I have car payments to deal with, so I can’t jump up and quit my job. I’m thinking about taking out a huge student loan like for $20,000.00- 40,000.00, but I want to find one with the lowest interest possible.
