Usually you have to be going at least half time toward an accredited degree program for it to be deferred for school attendance. You might want to try to file a deferrment for hardship if that applies. Check out their requirements.

While I sympatize with the feeling of being overwhelmed thinking about paying back student loans, you’re only going to dig yourself in a deeper hole by taking a random class just to avoid paying. I’m not trying to lecture, I’m just in the same place you are right now.
Have you done any research into company that you got your loans from? I just graduated in May and am currently in the process of repaying mine, and I know that now that I was givien quite a bit of information about different payment plans (larger amount over a shorter period or smaller amounts over a longer period) and how to defer payment if I needed to.
You don’t say who your loans are with, but here’s a link to sallie mae’s information about postponing payment:. Maybe your company has something similar and it’s usually as simple as checking their website or calling their customer service number.
