The title company was closed due to fraudulent transactions. What happened was the title company did not payoff the old mortgage. So, my friend now has 2 outstanding mortgages instead of one. The Insurer of the title company said they have limited access to the title company’s files thus delaying the process. Meanwhile, my friend has submitted all the closing documents to the Insurer of the title company but still they did not honor that and they did not pay yet the old mortgage company. My friend now is paying 2 mortgages. Instead of expecting a lower monthly payments, he is now paying double the amount of his original mortgage monthly payments. Any help please?

Ok, so theirs this form they send in the mail to people who are behind on loan payments, that says check one of the following boxes, one of them is , ‘This loan was discharged in bankruptcy’ , but is EDFUND a federal loan, that cannot be dissolved in Bankruptcy? The student is thinking of declaring bankruptcy but was under the impression that this could not be dissolved in Bankruptcy? Does anyone have a clue? Do federal / non federal student loans dissolve/ or do not dissolve, in bankruptcy? Or what is the deal?

How much is too much (student loans)?
Posted by: | CommentsI didn’t receive enough financial aid from my first choice school (Fordham), but I don’t know if it’s worth it to take out $20,000 per year in loans or go to a school that is cheaper (but is less appealing to me). I am going to school to major in chemistry as a premed student.

Whose the best student debt consolidation company?
Posted by: | CommentsI have 33,000 worth of student debt consolidated wit Goal Financial/Great Lakes but I can’t afford the monthly payment of $230/mo. They’ve offered “graduated” payments, but I can’t afford that either. What I can afford is $75-100/mo. Is there a company that I can refinance with that would accept these terms? If not, its bankruptcy for me…..

I’ve called several companies who consider themselves not-for-profit but when I talk to their reps, they start throwing out different fees which definitely are above common administrational costs. A couple of other companies I’ve called are somewhat reasonable with their fees, but the interest rates are bad. It seems as though they’re supporting themselves through whichever financial institution ends out loaning the money. Maybe I’m wrong and just haven’t found the right company??
Does anyone know of ANY debt consolidation companies that are reasonable? Low, fixed interest rates, no penalty for early payment of the loan, no hidden costs, etc.?
Any help you could give would be very much appreciated!
